How does a Butterfly Release Work?

We offer almost 20 different pre-arranged butterfly packages perfect for a wide variety of events and group sizes in our most popular configurations. This can save crucial time when planning an event. Just leave the details to us!

Additionally, we have the largest variety of butterfly release accessories in the industry. Our company allows you to create a completely unique butterfly release experience, tailored perfectly for your event.

We will ship fully developed live adult butterflies Overnight Express to arrive the day before your event. Your butterflies will be well protected in the cool environment of the insulated cooler, specifically designed for butterfly shipment. Each of our raised butterflies are fed prior to shipment and will be ready to take flight during your butterfly release. All you must do is examine your butterflies upon arrival and then store them in a cool dark environment (a closet for example) until it is time for your butterfly release.
Do not worry, instructions are included with the order and are available for download 24/7 on our website.

Our live butterflies can be released in two ways, as a mass butterfly release (releasing the butterflies all at once from one container) or an individual release (releasing the butterflies from separate containers... one per butterfly).

     To have an Individual Butterfly Release:
The envelopes containing the butterflies can be passed out to your participating guests at an appropriate time.  Your guest may then open their individual butterfly release envelope and watch the vibrant Monarch Butterflies emerge as they are released into the sky.

     To have a Mass Butterfly Release:
Your Butterflies will need to be transferred into one of our "easy transfer" mass butterfly release boxes, a standard mass release box or a butterfly release basket the morning of your event.
Our "Easy Transfer" mass butterfly release boxes are very user-friendly.

Do you ship your butterflies in glassine envelopes?

We offer the largest variety of options for your butterfly release. We do offer glassine envelopes in addition to card stock triangular & square individual release boxes.

The Monarch Butterfly has an average wingspan of between 3 3/8 - 4 1/4", while the Painted Lady has an average wingspan of only 2-2 1/2".	Why does your company only offer Monarch butterflies for release?    We only raise Monarch Butterflies. Based on feedback, Monarchs are  the preferred choice of butterflies. Here are just a few of the reasons: Monarchs are nearly 4 times the size of a Painted Lady. To have the same effect of a Monarch release, you would need to release at least 4 times as many Painted Ladies! Monarch butterflies fly gracefully, unlike Painted Ladies that flutter fast (this makes it very difficult to get a photograph of the Painted Lady during a release). Painted Ladies contain a red-colored dye that can stain clothing, including a Wedding Dress! Monarchs, on the other hand, pose no chance of this happening.
